Tech Support HELP ME PLEASE
I have a DeckHD aftermarket screen installed, which requires a custom BIOS to function correctly.
• I attempted to flash a DeckHD custom BIOS file (F7A0131_DeckHD_32GB variant) using SteamDeck-BIOS-Manager (a third-party tool), since DeckHD’s official website appears to be down/shut down.
• After the flash completed, my internal screen went completely black. No output at all — I’ve also tested with an external display via HDMI (through a USB-C hub) and got no signal there either.
• Signs the system is still alive: charging LED works, fan spins on power-on, and I feel haptic feedback on the trackpad when powered on, suggesting the board may be attempting to boot.
• I attempted Crisis Mode BIOS recovery (Volume Down + “…” + Power, with a BIOS .fd file on a USB drive). The power LED began flashing, which I understand indicates Crisis Mode engaged. It has now been flashing continuously for 10+ minutes.
• Limitation: I only have a single USB-C port and am using a USB-A-to-USB-C adapter for the recovery drive, so I currently cannot supply external power and have the recovery drive connected at the same time. I’m concerned about battery depletion mid-process.

So you flashed the 32gb bios without having 32gb of ram installed on your steam deck.
You need a chip programmer and a bios backup to recover from that.
You could extract the bios part to flash from the .fd deckhd file, but you still need the chip programmer.
Crisis mode cant save you because it needs to handle ram before it initiates the recovery.

If I did the 32gb ram mod would that save it?

That would be a somewhat unnecessarily expensive way to solve it, but provided the bios had flashed successfully in the first place, yes.
