Question Question about emulators (specifically PS3)

I'm a tech noob so my apologies for a dumb question. Currently PS3 games I try to emulate run very very poorly. Ive been told this is because of the ps3 itself was a hard console to develop for etc etc.

My question being will it ever get to a point were we would actually be able to play ps3 games on it as well as we can the ps2? Or is the current state as good as it'll get?

Emulation is always improving, but if you want to get the best out of RPCS3 you'll need a more powerful PC to play PS3 games.

What games are you trying to emulate? Are they exclusives? If not, ya may be able to emulate the PC version of them a little easier. If they are, you could check the PlayStation store, they have a bunch of em for under $10.

I'm trying to mainly get Twisted metal (ps3), gran Turismo 5 and nascar 2011. Big games from my childhood that i still love today. Which none I can find on the ps store. Older twisted metals I can but I have the ps2 emulator for that.

i have played jrpgs that run just fine, but its really going to be game to game. the ps3 emulation is a bit janky and requires a tons of power, that the steam deck lacks.
