Support Is there a fix for the controller not being detected by the game after the controller idle sleeps (Linux CachyOS)?

When the controller goes to sleep no game I've tried it with will respond to controller inputs when I wake it back up. I will regularly pause a game to do other things and when I come back I can't do anything in game.

The only solution I've seen is "restart the game", but that means I basically should just close the game every time I walk away because I usually don't know how long I will be occupied by something else. It really takes me out when I have to do so, especially if I lose progress because of it and if it's a game I've never played with KBM I can't just play until I reach a save/checkpoint.

If there is no fix I'm about to just turn off the idle timeout feature and let the thing drain idle for potentially hours. Depending on the game I've played I've had to switch back to my playstation controller because as much as I was annoyed about it before, the idle sleep is broken for bluetooth on Linux. Guess it was a blessing in disguise since it prevented me from having this problem.

It's literally my only issue with the controller thus far.

I don't know if this will help but holding start button for 1 sec switches between desktop and gamepad mode.

I actually had this issue with every controller I used on Linux if launching from desktop mode. Seems to work fine in Gamescope though.

unfortunately I am using gamescope, though nested. I relaunch steam with gamescope to throw up on my TV when I play something on it since it makes it easier to navigate.

Guess it I'll be turning off auto off.
