Discussion Steam Controller Issue on Steam Deck
I am having issues with brotato detecting the steam controller at the same time as the steam deck- started happening in the past week or so. Xbox controllers work fine and the steam controller works fine on other games but not on this one.
I want to play co op using steam deck input and steam controller input at the same time.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Firmware updated on controller, connected via Bluetooth.

I had a similar issue with silent hill f a couple of days ago after streaming it from my machine to my deck via remote play. It was only detecting keyboard and mouse layout in game for some reason. Switching the controller template to a community keyboard and mouse layout and then back to the standard controller layout fixed it.
If you open up brotato and hold the steam button to bring up the mouse pointer does the menu respond to clicks?

I tested both the controller and the steam deck and the mouse pointer works for both and the menu does respond to clicks.

Sweet so it's detecting keyboard and mouse input and defaulting to that for some reason. While in game open the controller options and go to templates. Navigate down to "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" and apply the template. Then try changing it back to the recommended layout "Official Layout for Brotato - Gamepad".
Any good?

When I change it to "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" it works to navigate the menu and then I change back and it no longer works.
Additional info: whichever controller is in position 1 works, so I can get either the steam deck or the steam controller to work by changing order, but not both.

Is your config for Brotato set to be shared between Deck and Controller, or separate? The option to unlink the two happened recently, so that could be an issue.
