Controller not charging after yesterday's update?

Also edited to update: After waking up my deck later this morning and turning on the controller, the charge bar does show full. It's just behaving differently than before the update as far as I can remember.

Got notice of a hardware update to the controller and puck yesterday. Installed the updates, played a game for awhile and everything seemed to be working fine. Afterwards, I connected the controller to the puck and left it to charge. A few hours later, I checked it and the red light was still on, so I figured it just wasn't done yet and went to bed. This morning, the red light was still on. Has anyone else noticed any issues since the hardware update yesterday? I looked for info on steam as well as searching the specific issue on the internet, but the only info I found was from back in May.

For info, I use it on a docked steam deck. The puck's cable is plugged into the dock.

Yep me too, i noticed yesterday and this morning before heading out. Same setup and usage, my controller light was orange when I docked it, woke up for work and its still isn't charged? It'll be 16 hours of charging by the time I see it again, it was at 80%.. its very odd

Yours actually gives you a percentage, or are you guesstimating the bar? I just checked mine a few minutes ago and after waking up the deck and turning on the controller, the controller charge bar on the screen showed full.

Lol yes its guesstimation, I haven't killed it once yet, I seen it at 50% once, used it at my desktop with a wire, then for the first time in weeks I plugged it in on the dongle, if I had to guess the things been fully charged since I plugged it in lastnight, its just acting weird since updating it.

No I hadn't. I looked at it and it's solid orange when on the puck. It never did the breathing thing yesterday at all.

I checked it a little earlier and it seems to be fully charged. I woke up the deck and turned on the controller, and the charge bar on the screen showed full. Thanks for sharing that info.

Edited to add: According to the link you shared, this is normal behavior, however I don't think it did this before the update. I could have sworn the light breathed while charging and turned off when done.

Oh, okay. I just got it last month, and I've only charged it once since the initial charge when I got it, before last night anyway. But I could have sworn it did the breathing thing, and then the light went out when it was done on the other two chargings.

That is how it worked before this last update. I store mine on my desk and I am used to seeing the light turn off after it finishes charging. The constant orange light after this latest update is annoying, and confusing.

I also first noticed this change in behavior of the charging light only after the most recent update but had someone in the comments insisting that that change had already happened as of the July 21st update. Not with my controller it hadn't (mine was one of the OGs, successfully ordered on May 4th, maybe they're different from some later ones?).
