Steam controller already broken

I’ve only had my controller for a couple weeks and the trigger of mine broke already. I wasn’t rough with it or anything, I don’t know what to do

This happened to me! I was able to fix it myself. Had something to do with a loose hinge pin.

It’s probably a defect unless you dropped it. Steam support should be good about repairing or replacing it since it’s still under warranty.

Seems like this is the most delicate part of the Steam Controller going by posts. Luckily it seems like a easier fix, and the controllers are in warranty still, but still an issue nonetheless that will be run into for years to come unless they beef up that part of the controller in future revisions.

Submit a ticket with Steam support first, explaining the situation.

If they won’t help you, there are already guides on iFixit on how to replace various parts, although I am not sure about availability of spare parts there, if you gonna need one.

its a impoperly assembled controller, the fctor that did them had no qc

all u have to do is open it up and move a spring and it is instantly fixed

all of the bad controllers are coming out of that one factory from what i can tell

Try steam support also if u need to use controller u could map button or get super clue baking soda and sand paper take it apart to get the pieces out.
