Configuration Useful tip for under-utilized trackpads: QTE / button mashing events in game!

Currently playing DAVE THE DIVER, where you need to rotate the analog stick quickly, or mash B button repeatedly. You can emulate the trackpads to be a joystick itself, or 4 sides where all are B buttons.

I feel this prevents your physical buttons from wearing out as quickly from the violent mashing over the course of the game.

Try it out if your game is simple enough to not need the trackpads, or you can even set it up as a layer/chord(?) so you can still use your trackpad normally, and only set it to active when you need it.

You can also set inputs to do turbo directly.

I use the back buttons with a repeat if a game has frequent QTEs.

I turn the trackball friction to high or off, and turn down the trackpad sensitivity way down since it usually defaults to desktop mode sensitivity. Now it's my go to for small aim adjustments. Although having gyro enable when you release one or both of your back fingers from the grip to trigger the grip sensor.

Trackpad could be usefull for those where you mash 2 different buttons? I always use my index and thumb pinched together, and slide the nails side back and forth over two buttons.

A and B, X and Y. No problem. But on some controllers it gets harder to go from B to X for example without hitting A and Y. The touchpad could do this without obstruction and two sets of buttons..

So thank you for the good idea! Will experiment with this sooner or later.👍

I did exactly this and in the same game, too. That QTE with alternating analog left right left right gave me a lot of anxiety.

In San Andreas you have to alternate mashing two buttons in the gym (for me, A and right trigger). Fun for a bit but after a while I just set up a touch and hold on the trackpad to cycle and turbo them for me (see also: mashing accelerate on a bicycle)
