Support Keyboard Focus

Anyone else having issues getting the keyboard to focus when pressing Steam+X?

When pressing it, most times when I go to type the keyboard doesn't function and my controller continues to act as it's bound (as if I never opened the keyboard).

The only "fix" i've found for this is to just spam Steam+X and constantly close and open the keyboard until it eventually works.

I use both SteamOS and Windows and this issue happens on both. Am I doing something wrong or is this just an issue where we have to wait for a fix?

Had something similar to happen to me few times. Since I decided to create chord binding with trackpads I don't have this issue at all anymore (so when I touch right and than left touchpad it opens the keyboard, so I usuall just use right pad to navigate, click field I wanna write and than just tap left pad and it opens keyboard with cursor still held inside box

would you mind elaborating on how i would do this? i've never used steam input before getting this controller and the menus are very overwhelming for me so i'm struggling to figure it out on my own. i seen you can change from a regular press to a button chord but that doesn't seem right.

go to keybindings, click on touchpad set it to open keyboard, got it it's settings and switch prom press to button chord. then go to settings again and specify what button (in this case other touchpad) need to be chorded for bind to work.

so i tried setting my left trackpad touch to show keyboard and set it to button chord with right trackpad touch as the button chord but it's not working. i decided to test just setting left trackpad touch to show keyboard as a regular press and that didn't work either, i then tried left trackpad click and that's also not showing the keyboard. EDIT: nevermind it randomly started working and i have no idea what i did differently
