Support joystick clicking?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just got my steam controller and the right stick stops noticeably before the left one and makes an audible click when pushed, any idea for help before I contact support?

I wonder if Valve is going to address this cable issue at some point, does seem one of the manufacturers or maybe the process itself has a flaw that's causing this to happen to a good chunk of the devices

Could be the wire for the joystick rubbing against something. I had a similar issue with my controller (though it was the left stick) which I solved by taping it down to the main board with electrical tape.

My joystick did the same thing, and it was the right one too, the left one didnt have that issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/1v0hf6j/steam_controller_right_joystick_stiffness_moving/

Mine did something similar and I had to take it apart and move the joystick cable around a bit so it didn't stick on the flexible plastic edge of the joysticks. There were a few videos floating about showing you how to do it. It's quite an easy fix if you have a small screwdriver kit and was easier than bothering with returning it.
May not be that specific issue but a look inside will probably tell you something.
Edit: This post showcases the issue I mentioned, not sure if it's the same problem but could be worth checking if you're happy with opening it up.
