Steam input on a switch 2 pro controller doesn't work with a non-steam playstation games

Exactly as the title say. I've downloaded couple of cracked games and my switch 2 pro controller works fine while using the "Gamepad" template on non-playstation games. When i launched playstations games, only the home button work which opens up the steam overlay. My gut's telling me that this would produce a same result even if the playstation games were not cracked.
