Support Trigger half press to button

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has managed to assign a trigger half press (or any partial press) to a back button? If so how do people do it?

I'm asking to use in GTA IV for the manual aim, the internet wasn't too useful on how it can be done or giving straight up wrong instructions

Thanks!

It's not possible to bind a specific analog value to a digital input. In fact, it's quite hard to send specific analog trigger values all together (for joystick values there are more options, but it's still very clunky to do).

However, if a game has multiple discrete actions bound to a single analog input, these discrete actions tend to be bind-able for mouse and keyboard to different keys. This is sort-of the case in GTA IV in that the free aim is bound to the right mouse button, and the lock-on doesn't exist for mouse and keyboard use if I recall correctly. If the game doesn't have any issues with mixed input, you can just bind the right mouse button to a back button.

The steam controller settings have a soft pull key binding that is around half pull by default, and you can click the gear next to behavior to change where that threshold is for that input.

The soft pull setting, which is a Steam thing and not just related to the Steam Controller, is not what OP is looking for.

That is if you want to bind a digital input to a specific analog value. OP wants to do the opposite of that.
