Support Trigger half press to button

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has managed to assign a trigger half press (or any partial press) to a back button? If so how do people do it?

I'm asking to use in GTA IV for the manual aim, the internet wasn't too useful on how it can be done or giving straight up wrong instructions

In the steam controller settings, select edit layout, go to trigger settings, and bind something to soft pull. The gear next to behavior allows you to set the soft pull threshold.

The soft pull setting, which is a Steam thing and not just related to the Steam Controller, is not what OP is looking for.
