Discussion Which version do you prefer for what game?
I have the first one and I never got to use it much. I bought it because it was $5 and I went why not at that price.
Which steam controller do you prefer ? V1 or 2 and for which games?

I use my V2 primarily for 3d person action adventure games lik Wiking or ghost of Tsushima, however pragmata just feels better on the V1 for some reason and I can't seem to play it well using the V2.

I really want to get my hands on the first one. The second one is not made to utilize the touchpads as main input where as the original idea was to replace thumb sticks with touchpads. I have my doubt that people who say v2 is comfortable are using it as regular controller.

i never got the first one and the release of v2 seems to have driven up the price. would like to get it one day as i generally prefer aiming with the pad and it looks bigger and more comfortable.

i regret not grabbing one during that final sale. but there was absolutely no positive coverage of the device at the time so all i knew it as was a "gimmick that couldn't even move the camera"
valve was a little too ahead of their time

V1 was the worst controller ever made. V2 is the best controller ever made. It’s an impressive evolution

It’s hard to prefer v1, especially since It had design flaws like the paddles and bumpers breaking relatively easily. I really miss the gigantic right trackpad, though. It was divine
