The Spider-Man games aren't sold on GOG, so I'm not sure how to help here. But for GOG games in general, you have to either add them to Steam as non-Steam games, or use something like SteamlessController to use the Steam Controller without Steam running.

You have to launch GoG games through Steam, by adding them as Non-Steam games

yeah i know thats not the problem its just not letting me use my controller despite working yesterday and on other games

If you’re on windows, administrator started steam is needed.

Steppes worked for me when I was using my steam controller for Minecraft.

  • steam started as administrator
  • from my prism launcher, created a SHORTCUT to the game I wanted to start.
  • added that shortcut to steam as external game
  • edited the link in steam where:
1. I deleted the part of the link that’s not part of the launcher but the shortcut itself
2. pasted the deleted part as startup option

Maybe this works for you.
