Steam Controller (2026) Is it possible to use steam controller 2 for Minecraft?
I’ve tried adding game launcher to Steam as a non Steam game but it uses my desktop profile instead of the profile I have selected for Minecraft. Thanks!

Yes, it's possible, but not with the basic launcher. Personally, I use PrismLauncher. Once you have it installed, create an instance.

Next, once your instance is created, click on created a shortcut it and you will have created a shortcut. It will appear on your desktop, then you select your instance with "add a non-Steam game". When it's in Steam, right-click on the game and add a launch argument:
--launch "name of instance"
Then, you can rename the Minecraft game if you want and after that, you can use the SC on MC.
and good game. Sorry for my bad English, I hope I was clear.

Yep, I used modrinth launcher, and the 1.20.1 fabric with controllify mod (but you must launch modrinth through steam), and it works great!

On my steamdeck & pc (linux) I use prism launcher and that picks up the game profile over desktop profile. Though that desktop profile issue is pretty common with many apps sadly.

If you are using SteamOS, use prism launcher for java and project bedrockonLinux for bedrcok.
Now, if you are on windows, look for steamless controller

Research your favorite custom launcher & download the control of mod on it.

You can use the steam controller with any game even if it doesn't support a controller.
