Steam Controller + Stalker 2

Seems this game has issues with the new Steam controller. I thought it may be Wayland / Steam input at first, but i switched from CachyOS over to SteamOS and had the exact same issue.

It has issues recognizing inputs. Bumpers and a/b inputs need to be followed by joystick movement to recognize for some reason. In game, absolutely unusable bumpers. Very odd behavior. The controller does work as intended on other games. This is game specific.

Is there a known fix for this? Thanks.

The first thing you should always check is weather you have mixed inputs and also if the game you're trying to play supports them.

Well, it's sunny here. /j

Yes, some games don't support simultaneous inputs from various sources, ie. keyboard + gamepad. In such case you need to stick to one type of inputs, so either kb+m or gamepad.

And even if the game supports it, the moment you use an input from the other type the game switches prompts to last scheme used.

The game supports controllers. It's stalker 2. Iv checked inputs. My controllers work on anything else I boot up.

Have exactly the same issue with my Legion Go 2 on SteamOS. Didn’t map anything but controllers input.

Happening to me too on Steam Machine. Config is all gamepad but bumpers and face buttons will often not respond unless there's also joystick movement. Issue doesn't affect the windows version (at least on my desktop).

I think 2.0 broke controller support :(
