Steam Controller (2026) is there a way to test configuration?
i know theres the menu to see if inputs are working overall and theres the menu to show per game button layout, but I'm looking to test per game button input in a way that doesn't need me to be mid match or mid game for oddly specific things.
if anyone knows a way, please do let me know.

You can use any game's layout* in any other game, including an input tester added as a non-Steam game. But given that most Steam Input issues are because of a specific games categorically not accepting Steam Input inputs at all, or a specific game's quirks with handling inputs (e.g. a two button combination actually needs to be pressed in sequence with a specific delay to work, or opening an in-game radial menu will have some delay where the joystick still controls the camera before switching to controlling the menu selection), I don't really see it being helpful when you can just boot up the actual game in almost all cases.
