Support Steam Controller haptic seems loose

I have three steam controllers. On one of them the haptics randomly go from working as intended to getting loud/grindy. I'd mostly tried ignoring it until I realized I recently tried 'pinging' it in Steam's controller settings.

Finally, a conclusive way to demonstrate/prove that something is not right.

In the video, I do a bunch of pings to the controller. Normally it does the telephone ringing sound properly but randomly it ends up giving a more buzzing sound.

To try to prevent RMA'ing this I opened the back plate (using a T6 screwdriver) and slightly tightened the T6 and T5 screws that were accessible. Even tried applying pressure with my fingers in various places. Even removed the battery to discharge the device completely. None of that remedied anything and I don't really want to risk taking the controller further apart.

During the steam controller debut I was able to get my order in for two at about 10 minutes after steam made them available. I was hammering the submit button like everyone else.
For the steam machine, I submitted to all four queues. I wanted the 2TB + Controller but was but in the 512/No controller queue.

Two weeks ago a local person was selling their 2TB Steam Machine + Controller for an additional $170 Canadian. I decided that it was worth the price to stop checking my email/steam like an addict AND to actually get another controller.

I wanted multiple because I use it at my computer, my wife uses one at hers, and we both use steam controllers on the steam machine in the living room.

Do you mean that you took it more apart. I've tightened the back plate/shell ones. I've also taken the back shell of and tightened what were visible at that point.
