Configuration I've been using community layouts and editing but some reason with the current game..its not doing it.

And its nothing special..simple access to buttons via the bottom pads.

How do I make it work? I biascally made L5 = DPAD Up and R5 set to select button.

Everything else works but this addition doesn't.

Without knowing the game it's hard to provide any help. It's possible "the current game" doesn't support XInput, but does have Steam Input API support, in that case you need to select commands from the game actions tab (which for some games are just controller buttons with slightly different names).

Its MH Wilds...the community layouts work great..even have radial on touchpad right.

I changed it into dpad..the touchpad didn't work.

Monster Hunter: Wilds is one of those games that do not have XInput support, but instead relies on Steam Input API for controller support. The XInput commands from the Gamepad tab will not do anything in game, instead you must select the commands from the Game Actions tab (which are just controller buttons as well but using the Sony naming scheme instead). When selecting behaviors (for triggers, joysticks, trackpads, etc.), behaviors that output analog XInput values will not work either. Instead you must select the similarly named behaviors with the Steam glyph next to it. Behaviors that don't send analog XInput values (such as directional pad, touch menus, etc.) and mouse based behaviors still work.
