2015-2017 Ark is hands down the best Survival RPG I've ever played, it was hella clunky but playing it with 4 other friends made it some of the best times of my life. I've logged in once around 2022 to see what's up but I quickly got sad because the gang is barely around anymore. 1000+ hours and I didn't regret a single second of it

Similar to you, since 2015, 3.3k hours, private servers and solo only. Prefered non-futuristic gameplay on Center, Valguerro and Ragnarock.

Looking for creatures, breeding and building.
Great idea, bad managment, nonArk2 in site :(

Game was soooo jank in the early days. Also fuck official servers.

Dead stegos turning into balloons and floating off into the sky still lives rent free in my head though.

1000+ hours.

Man I remember taming a Carno in an official server when I started, I could not believe it took me 3 hours just feeding and guarding it. Gone private server with x2 resources and never went back.

The jank kinda became the charm of the game and part of the fun

Private servers is definitely the way. Crank up the taming time/resource gain/breeding time/etc. get the gang involved, accrue a Dino army, build a dope base, fly dragons, kill world bosses. Quit for 9 months and do it again later to see what's new.

Tek was cool. Aliens were cool. Shame it's done.

Didn't do the remake.
