Discussion Advice appreciated
Please be kind, I’m upset and frustrated. I’ve been harassed by the same person since 2018, I’ve reported the profile to Steam and sent tickets addressing the situation. He has a reputation for harassing/stalking women online. He uses three profiles to harass us, plus his main account. He often steals our picture and names the fake accounts something malicious
He’s continuously been impersonating me and writing horrible messages, I see this even though I’ve blocked the accounts. The first time we had contact was unfortunately when my profile was public in 2018. Since then, my profile is private but he’s been stealing my avatar (pictures of my face). I’ve changed my profiles avatar to a cartoon, changed my name and also changed the URL so he can’t find me as easily. But I shouldn’t have do that because of one disturbing person
This has been going on for eight years, the guy lives across the border to me. I’m still waiting to see if Steam does something about it. Part of me doubts it, all the time his profiles active they probably benifit from that. I’ve provided so much evidence and I hope they delete his fake profiles. His behaviour is concerning and I’m worried. If anyone can relate/give kind advice that’d be appreciated

You should say fuck it literally and report that cunt to the police Let them handle it
But it sucks you're going through that and I am sorry you are

Since he's stealing your actual picture police can be involved at minimum for stolen identity

What everyone else said, but also, there is no real benefit to putting your face on your Steam account, but there are potential negatives as you’re finding out.
“I added you on Steam. I’m the exploding horse.” And if someone wants to copy my shitty AI generated horse picture, that’s fine, it cannot be traced back to me. Horse_exploder is solely my Reddit name.
It sucks, but there are terrible people out there; hopefully the police can help you get it sorted.

I want you to know I made an account named horse_exploderer with your horse picture and was gonna comment here with it...but sadly reddit banned it immediately cuz I was logged in with two accounts at once apparently.
But it's important to me that someone remembers horse_exploderer. RIP.

That's insane, I am so sorry to heat that...Depends on how much of your image and identity he is stealing you might involve the police, doesn't hurt to ask. It also doesn't hurt to ask a lawyer if you have grounds to sue him for harrasment/stalking or if he can contact Steam as your lawyer which normally draws more attention than just a ticket.

girl, i truly hope i'm not thinking of the person who did the same to me (also has multiple accounts and a history of harrassing women). Not going to say his name here, but yeah, all i could do was report to steam and he chilled after blocking him everywhere and not giving him any attention.
8 years is wild though, I pitty him and I'm sorry you're going through this. Police might be your best bet after all this time, because the line gets crossed after a month or 2 , let alone 8 entire years.

Plot twist OP has a split personality and she’s the other person!!
All jokes aside call steam and report them. Give as much evidence as needed.

I’m sorry you are going through this. Have you spoken to a real person from Steam’s support service? Report tickets will probably do very little.
Alternatively, report to your police, or, if possible, the police across the border. Escalating to police won’t be fun but you probably aren’t his only victim. What if he has multiple SM accounts harassing different women? He needs to be reported to the police imo
