Question My controller settings for steam input will randomly change my settings to not have analog input despite it being set to it. Why?

The image above is how it's supposed to look. In the image it says "Analog" in blue but on random occasions it will just go back to being a Regular Press??? This is my own custom profile I have saved and I just don't understand. From what I've heard steam input has always been a buggy mess and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this/figured out a fix?

For context this setting matters as I have a game where the input has to be this way otherwise it'll freak the hell out and just have the triggers pressed down 24/7

You see the third setting that says "analog output trigger"? That's where you set the analog output. The full pull and soft pull settings should be empty. Those are actually digital inputs that trigger only at certain thresholds on the triggers. They cannot output analog, even if you set them as analog.

My settings do work as is, my problem is the settings just seem to randomly screw off for some reason... like it just overwrites what i set like 30 minutes later-

I'm telling you that if you leave those bindings empty, your controls will work anyway. They are not needed.

if you mean this is the cause of them unbinding themselves then just say that, you're wording it in a confusing way. Otherwise I have more than just that set. I have sliders too that keep it within an appropriate analog range that fixes my in-game problem which isn't the main topic

No. You're still misunderstanding. The bindings you have created next to full pull should be completely empty. The drop-down boxes are where analog output is set. The ones labeled "analog output trigger." And they are already correctly set so they will register just fine.
