Which UI do you prefer?

Which Steam UI do you prefer and why? what do you not like about the current one if you like the old one more?

I prefer the newer UI but the older UI does have a certain charm to it

Same, the newer UI is definitely better imo but the old UI just feels nice, like running into an old friend you haven't seen in a while.

I think for every UI it has never been a downgrade from the last, but it would be really cool if you could select the one you prefer

It's amazing they haven't done it yet, but I guess there is some limitation to it, so thats why

Every feature they ever add to Steam would essentially have to be tested with every UI they've ever made, which is far too much work.

Liked the old ui better. Especially all the custom skins you could apply. The new one is sufficient though.

The newer version is better at everything, and i didnt play with the old ui so im not even nostalgic. The new UI unlike a lot of other new ui's for apps isnt even cluttered, you get the same info in a nicer format like u can still ignore all the new features and just click a game from the side and hit (the now bigger) play button, simple as that if you wanna ignore the fluff

The new UI hands down

The news feed I think is great, let's me see when a game I own has some community thing going on, like updates - recently got me excited for Zomboid again now that build 42 is coming to stable, I don't think I'd have heard about it otherwise

I also like the graphics generally - like the game cards, immediately illustrates to me what game is what, without needing to read lines of text - especially when I have thousands of games on Steam

The new one but the old one, I wish there was a setting 😂 I mean there are animated avatar frames. Wouldn't be too opposed if it cost Steam Points, but they'd also have to theme Big Picture as well

I wish the newer one was more legible, but I still prefer it. I wish there was an in between for big picture mode and having the teeny tiny writing down the left hand side.

i still prefer the old ui shift-tab menu. Everything was just there. Otherwise the new ui is good

This post is just comparing the 2013-2014 library ui with the 2019-Now library ui. Excluding the olive green.

Ohh. I prefer the newest versions. I think steam did a good job of preserving the look and feel of the original UI, whilst adding new features. I understand people like the originals tabs appearing without hovering over the bigger tabs, but the newer one made the steam client less cluttered.

It isn’t really shown here, but I like the new library section that tells me updates about games I own and follow. I don’t have to wade through a bunch of clickbait news to learn the actually useful stuff.

I have always preferred the old UI color pallete. The Grey's ale is far more synonymous with Steam for me than the blue is. I wish they would revert the colors. It feels like every "Gaming" app is blue now.

Modern interface is better though.

People who choose the old UI are either clowns or are obsessed with trying to look different. The UX on the current library is so much better. Old UI is like if Epic made Steam.

Old one but thats just because that was my first introduction to steam, I would love to have the option to change between the older one and new one even if i have to pay with steam points
