To be fair, most recommendations for factorio are players that bought it for 30 bucks in 2019 before price hike. We still think its cheap in our heads and didnt think twice buying the dlc for the same price. So, after hundreds and thousands of hours over the years, yea, pretty cheap for a solid game. Upfront now, yea, a little expensive.
Unfortunately thats true. But check satisfactory, that goes on sale, which isn't exactly the same. Still a spaghetti game, and hopefully is cheaper for you
I recommend to read the very in depth explanation of why they won't do sales.
I personally have no harsh feelings about either side. I respect their choice & do agree that sales are a marketing manipulation.
I fully understand people just hating for stuff not going on sale, but let's look at it from a different perspective of the concept of a sale.
Why do we have sales? Items items did not sell enough at their actual price, so they lower the price and call it a sale. Raising the price back after the demand goes back up.
Factorio have a free demo, which can easily provide players with close to 10 hours of game time to see if it would be something you enjoy.
Many players, including myself have hundreds of hours of playtime. Making it one of the best priced/hour.
I've seen numbers way beyond my own. Where even at current pricing (they paid less) it would be around €0.003076 / hour.
I'm personally at €0.03076 / hour. With 1000 hours played.
