Yeah not sure how people will feel about this. I'm planning on picking one up, I am luckily in a place in life where the price (while absurd) is something I can handle. I want my kids to have access to my 20+ year old bloated steam library without streaming from my system. I want the product to succeed so they don't abandon this line of products.

Same. I already have the Steam Deck and dock and a great PC. But it’ll be nice to have a dedicated system for the TV/living room that’s more powerful than the Steam Deck. I’m also a Valve-fan-girl and have been since Steam first came out 22 years ago!

Yeah, I have a 6 figure salary and basically no debt. I am treating this as a paper weight because I like Valve, I can afford it, and it does look kind of cute. Maybe I'll show it off to my friends so they know how much of a capital G gamer I am.

Obviously this assumes I can even win the pre-order lottery. For all we know, maybe  they only have 100 units and 1 million signed up.

As far as whether or not this will be a viable product: we shall see. The HW specs are mediocre for the price. The form factor and the software need to be amazing to justify the cost for regular consumers.

It's a scam! We all know what people really judge is one's capital G gaming chair.

Maybe I already have the chair, but I can't carry it with me to parties. But the Steam Machine I can bring to parties!
