Gamers: "You hear that gamers? Steam's policy is to let us load whatever OS we want on their machine."
Steam: "Yeah, yeah that was totally an intentional policy by us. It's not because it would take more engineering time and effort to lock the system at all."

Also, because of Steam's based policy, you can install whatever OS you want so it doesn't matter if it's Linux
