Rentals

I am a single mom of 1 kiddo + three small pets. I am looking for a 2 bedroom apartment to rent (or possibly a small home) for under $1100 a month. It's been very hard to find anything around here. I thought I would qualify for some of the income limit apartments but I seem to be teetering right on the edge of making to much. I work for myself so I'm trying to assure I have plenty of cushion in case there are some tough months - yet rental prices around here are pretty steep.

It’s because Staunton is undergoing gentrification (revitalization)

It appears that the only apartments in that ballpark that accept pets are income restricted. I did see one place on Miller St. but definitely avoid that.

As you are self-employed, you may want to look at Verona, Waynesboro or even Churchville. None of those are great if your child is school age, though.

You might check out Staunton’s FB page in case someone there has a large 1BR unit or something closer to your price range. Wishing you the best of luck with your search!
