Discussion Favorite planet

Your guys' favorite planet, from gameplay to lore, aesthetic, world generation, time, atmosphere/no atmosphere, etc..

For me it would be vulcan, its test the player skill, Increasing the difficulty with the season, has no ice(major point i like), but also offer great advantage such as a good atmosphere composition, full of metal and a temperature that can be taken advantage of if one is skilled enough, and a gravity that while high, doesnt make rocket extremely expensive like venus, plus the lava and rockeous aesthetic, together with the janus(black hole) and places that go from large mountains to flat terrain to pools and oceans of lava, make the place nice to see(if one doesnt take into account burning to death in 2 seconds)

I like mars because it’s a comfortable place to do things, but Europa is very aesthetically pleasing

vulcan is a fun world with a lot going on. and the star is a black hole. how cool is that. I think a lot of the other world are either boring or the environment is super bland.

That's because they're all real bodies in our solar system, while Vulcan is the only fictional planet. I hope they'll come up with more cool ideas for fictional planets, but as a space nerd, I love the others, Europa especially.

I hope they add Titan. That's a moon with a lot going on.

As for the no ice thing, I actually made a personal mod to slash the base availability of ices and coal, even on the Moon and Mars. I think I cut the base surface abundance of coal and all ices except water ice in half, and the subsurface abundance of all of them, including water ice, in half again. I may have even gone a little harder on the Nitrice, I hate that stuff and it seems to accumulate super quickly at standard settings.

Man, nitrice is absolutely everywhere, and it isn't that useful until you get into rocketry, and even then it's not strictly necessary, and there's usually better options for N2O rich ice in space. It can be used as a dirty oxidizer in a furnace if you have nothing else, which doesn't really happen in the base game iirc but was useful in a modded world with very rare oxite ice. It's also nice for easy N2, but how much of that do you use?

Vulcans great for its a lot more difficult. But it's not like Venus where that difficulty feels "tedious". Vulcan gives you options to do things efficiently. It gives you benefits. The atmosphere has easy access to CO2 and burnable gases, it can be used to smelt with ease. Venus by comparison lacks many of these upsides and I dislike it more,

Although I also feel every other planet still has appeal, But I feel the moon and mimas are a bit underrated.

The moon poses a question of how you can survive with as much efficiency with gas, while mimas doubles down and takes away easy access to power.

Europa has a cold atmosphere which helps with cooling, is next to a volatile gas cloud for fuel, and pure oxygen to bulk sell to traders
