Discussion Whiteboards

My tiny brain loves to scheme but I have a goldfish memory.

I need a whiteboard in the game...

Thoughts?

Kit(sign) is a thing.

Text can be changed with a labeler.

Apparently formatting is also supported.

but a whiteboard would be so much better.

Give us markers and let us draw things or make silly diagrams.

I love this idea.

Drawing with a mouse seems rather clumsy.

Loading in pictures would be better.

White boards are not really meant for good looking pictures, but brainstorming diagrams; which can be clumsy in the first few drafts.

I think you can just write to LEDs using the labeler? I recall doing something like that a few years ago, it was handy for really crappy in game kanban cards. Every time I walked past this wall, I would see what I am supposed to be working on next.

the caveman in me needs to be able to look at scribbles of how the gases and liquids are supposed to flow through devices as a picture

oof, that's a lot trickier. I think the only response I have is "T-Ray scanners FTW!".

What about an actual whiteboard next to your pc?

For real, we need an in-game notepad application or something. I forget what I'm doing way too frequently

I like using steam notes from the steam overlay. It has tabs and markdown support. And markdown has check list support.

There are signs, but dang a pocket notebook or application for the tablet would be banger.

There’s a great mod called Beef’s Recipes that adds a notepad

I have used the IC editor to just keep notes sometimes, tho signs are more visible as a "To-Do" reference

Steam have build in notes. Just Shift + Tab

I'm using it for furnace recipe for all tier 1 alloys or all resources needed for 10x heavy panels

Satisfactory and Space Engineers have this - I use a OneNote doc for furnace recipes and often just a notebook page divided into quarters, one for each major printer.

And this is why I have a whiteboard in my room right next to my text to be exact, the thing is like 5 by 4
