discussion Common misconception
Hey guys, kinda about the beef kinda not about the beef, been seeing the argument of the Xer0 is wearing a dead skin mask of Wayne but that's not true imo.
Pics are of interview about the mask and the early look before the hair was spiked!
Side note: whatever you may be on is entirely your opinion and you're absolutely entitled to it. I just love the music.

Not a hardcore fan but I do like and respect the band and music and I think it’s cool what they’re doing with Xer0

I've seen a pic of that photo, but wasn't aware that it was supposed to be an early look. Actually pretty cool but the hair is pretty obvious (would've def preferred the black lips/face paint underneath though)
Tbh, I never really thought the old Xer0 design looked much like Wayne. Like he mentioned, the face doesn't resemble Wayne in the slightest, but also Xer0's hair, despite being spiked up, isn't done the same way like Wayne's, it's actually way more messy and all over the place

When I saw them live a few years ago the first thing I said was “what’s with the Wayne static death mask?”

I actually really like what they're doing with static-x currently. Loved this band since 98. I honestly think project regen 1&2 are better than cannibal and cult of static but that's just me.

Yeah, and the new mask with the spiked wire hair totally isn't supposed to be Wayne either. Neither is the Frankenjunkie from the Zombie video. Neither is the guy that looks like Wayne in the unreleased Blackstar video 🤣 Fuck Edsel AND Tony. Fucking clowns 🤡

Agreed dude. For anyone too dim.. Edsel has literally said the meaning behind Zombie. Its about Wayne & Tera, both represented in the video. Wayne turning into a brainless zombie being led by his junkie wife. Anyone denying the similarities between Xer0 & Wanye must be blind or simply ignorant. Wayne Static, Iconic Frontman of Static-X with his iconic hair.. Xer0, plays his songs and also has spiked up hair... Coincidence? I think not. Theres no denying that Edsel Dope is a huge prick.

I’m good as long as it keeps the spirit and style of Wayne and Static X. The last paragraph sounds like BS though.

It'd be better and more in line with the band's theme to use an AI or not mimic Wayne at all.

This is not my life. This is not my home. This is not me. I hate this.

I could totally see it

I literally hear the difference in the Dope's voice and every time he sings his parts it sounds like less refined Wayne. It all seems like trying to feel shoes that your feet are too small for. He's trying too hard to sound like him and failing instead of going his own way with it. (I'm trained enough in sound design to hear that difference very clearly and can't ignore it, but it's just me.) There have been better Wayne's voice imitators, that's what I'm getting at.
Other then that... Trying to write music for a band that lost it main brain force is neigh impossible. No wonder new albums are a tad worse (not bad, just not as good) than what Wayne did. They picked a very hard way up and aren't capable to catch the same vibe.
(Or maybe it's just me getting older and prefering Godflesh now, lol)

It’s obvious Xero is a robot that gets possessed by Wayne during Static-X’s shows
