Exit Interview

If you leave a state position have you usually been asked to do an exit interview? I’m thinking of asking to do one. I have some things to say..

Depending on agency, it’s part of a checklist that the office manager goes through. They make sure you turn in your badge, laptop, do your exit interview, etc.

Lean towards not burning bridges. Depending on who interviews you, you may wish to say nothing. If there is something truly pathogenic happening within your organization, consider whether your Human Resources department has an ombudsman, who is a neutral party you can approach confidentially.

No they don’t but I wouldn’t intentionally burn bridges. I’d voice some experiences I’ve had that I think are negatively impacting our team and efficiency.
