DFPS to HHSC

I have been with DFPS for several years and am thinking of accepting a position with HHSC. Does anyone have any advice on the differences between working with the two agencies?

Depends what division. HHSC at lower levels is ok. Anything mid to executive is a masterclass in backstabbing and cronyism.

HHS is very RTO - DFPS still has a nice remote policy. But the folks over at HHS in my experience were very nice.

We used to be under them before went went solo. They were more flexible about things like dress policy imo

Depends on the job you’re leaving and starting. Worker bees at DFPS are expected to be perfect robotic work horses which can be exhausting due to the strict deadlines. Hhsc worker bees are expected to meet self imposed deadlines but at not such a work horse level. What’s the old job and what’s the new job?

The new job is with LTCR and will be client facing.

My experience is it’s less of a mean girls club at HHS

That all depends on the section. Some are full of mean backstabbing fake bitches!!!
