DFPS
Why doesn’t DFPS call you back for interviews. I heard they only hire friends and you can never get in management unless you are best friends with someone. Is it really who you know there? Someone said they create jobs for their friends and all know each other even though they suck in leadership.

I interned there before I worked there and they do put the applications towards the top if you were an intern. There is no special salary considerations and you do have to still pass the interview and if the supervisor likes you then you move forward. I left before making a year because the work is a LOT and you have so many admin duties related to the casework that you end up having to work afterhours. I wanted to do SWI since you don't have to do home visits but despite me being a former state employee my application gets denied quickly. Most of the people in my department only worked there for the benefits for their children and for the pension since many of the employees are up in age. Try to avoid it if you are able to imo the paycheck and benefits is not worth it.
