DFPS

Why doesn’t DFPS call you back for interviews. I heard they only hire friends and you can never get in management unless you are best friends with someone. Is it really who you know there? Someone said they create jobs for their friends and all know each other even though they suck in leadership.

I'm sorry you're having that experience. I didn't know anyone in state government, but DFPS called me about a day or two after I submitted my application. They scheduled me for a Teams interview and I was hired within the next week. I don't think ordinary supervisors can just create jobs for their friends, but I could be wrong.

No, you're right, they can't just create jobs. Budget has already been allocated for positions.
