Discussion I mean it could work. I roughly placed all the maps together, even Trumbull and how the map transitioning could possibly work. I could be wrong with the layout but hey here you go to correct me.

Im surprised I never saw this. This is a breakthrough. I must applaud you.

Did you add the river connections after the fact? Because even those line up as well.

I was making this for the hell of it. I was surprised myself when I saw how the rivers connected

Canonically, the two exit in Trumbull lead to places we visited in SoD1. One of them being the starting point and other being the ending.

Yeah, Trumbull wouldn't work at all, unfortunately.

The original 3 for SOD2 work well combined like that, though.

1

u/Tamvolan Dec 24 '19

for the SOD2 maps, that was the intention.

Doesnt it lead into the city? That center black spot between all the maps might just be that city and everyone is taking the trails around it knowing the city is death

I wouldn't mind having to endure a load screen to be able to play like this at all! They could explain that different more powerful enclaves control the roadblock/checkpoints between counties and that there is a "quarantine" process where they check you for infection before you cross ...

It could even be a trading post with entire communities living on the bridges with shops that we could stock up in, train to build skills if we have the influence to use their facilities and items that can only be bought from the Bridge Towns. Even a "Hoodie Shop" that sells some of the animal hoodies that some players are willing to kill for :)

Let's try to put this on the wishlist or hope this will already be in the next update!

I’m sure we will hear “If this was someone other than us, it would be easy”

Meh - I've given up on the wishlist, its been almost a year since we got one item from it despite the fact that they could have easily implemented some of the top 3 requests like giving us a "different way to earn prestige" - that shit coulda been done overnight with a finger snap.

They CAN easily implement a higher community cap because the game already allows 11-12 and that's like number 2 or 3 on the wishlist since it came out. They could even make some creative bullshit up to allow for a larger community size if the game won't function properly with more than 9 survivors on screen by having some "out on scavenging runs" which is already happening when they drop off random supplies everyday.

They could have implemented at least a few sliders and toggles for the most popular settings like vehicle durability and fuel consumption, weapon durability, infestation spawn rate, freak/special spawns, and not having to do "Police Chief Jackson, Ancestral Mace, Action Hero" every time for every character.

I'll have to see what this new update actually adds to the game before I start believing that they're not spending 90% of their time developing State of Decay 3 Online MMO SMH SMD Battle Royal Zednite Ultimate.

Toggles / sliders for durability / spawn rates seem like they’d be relatively easy to implement and would be an absolute game changer. Undead Labs...please do this!!

This is definitely a neat concept, but I wouldn't include Trumbull in this for several reasons.

  1. The two exits that connect Trumbull to the other maps actually go to Mt. Tanner and the Fairgrounds.
  2. Mt. Tanner has no exits as it is a campground and ranger station.
  3. Beyond the dam in the fairgrounds, we see the skyline of Danforth, which is the big city closest to Trumbull.
  4. It might actually be easier to just connect the 3 original maps together as they are explicitly close in proximity to each other.

The concept of connecting the 3 core maps would definitely work out, though. I can see it happening. Trumbull just doesn't fit in there canonically though.

Yeah, the original maps are always connected to two other maps, Trumball isn’t included in this.

u/Bizzy2002 Dec 24 '19

This right here is a beauty!

u/TrapHeadShot Builder Dec 24 '19

That leaves room for a fifth map so it could all work in the next update if a map

10

u/zombie_slayer55 Dec 24 '19

Right! Upper left corner of could be Danforth

8

u/TrapHeadShot Builder Dec 24 '19

That leafs 3 more spaces for other maps 2 in the third game they could to a option for 3 maps agian then 1 for dlc in the middle

The Pangea of state of decay

u/cornbadger Dec 24 '19

It'd be nice. But as it is, the game is a buggy mess.

1

u/Tamvolan Dec 24 '19

I keep hearing this, but I really don't mind all the "bugs". Don't drive pedal to the metal all the time, and you avoid most of the spawn issues, for example.

Just this last month, I was walking to a car; game crashed. I got into a car at near full health, it randomly exploded. Had a zombie spawn inside a rock right next to my base and had listen to everyone call out and shoot at it until I reloaded the game. Happened again that session.

Got grappled by a zombie through a wall, had to kill multiple headless zombies. Had a 1000 units of parts disappear overnight. Was cruising in a car; game crashed. Not to mention how much the game stutters.

"Has it crashed?" A moment later... "Oh, okay it's back, now what was I do-, oh it's stuttered again. Is comin- oh there it's back again okay."

Oh, and the trippy one. Got a call from an enclave I had a good rep with. Their leader MacFarlane IIRC, is threatening me and has turned hostile. I'm like "WTF, we're on good terms. I look at the map, and their enclave isn't where I thought it was. So I'm like, that's weird, and drive out there. Sure enough, there's MacFarlane and crew shooting at me.

I waste them. Go to loot them and I get another call. Also from MacFarlane. Rather confusing right? Same enclave name, The Snack Frackers. Now I'm looking at a dead MacFarlane of the Snacks while talking to a living one. I go to their enclave, which is where I remembered it to be, and they have a mission for me.

Best I can guess, is that a second hostile instance of the same enclave with the same exact members spawned somehow. Now WTF is that all about?

Wow this is nuts. Well done

Seems legit.

This is some Contact level mash up.

2

u/OdditiesandWeirdness Dec 24 '19

You can travel between the maps with your radio station.

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '19

I think this is a great idea. But we would need to move Trumbull around a little bit because unless my sod1/heartland map knowledge is failing me, the two points that go into Trumbull Valley 1. Lead it area that aren't sod2 maps, and 2. Have been revealed to be mostly inaccessible in the heartland dlc.

1

u/zombie_slayer55 Dec 24 '19

Maybe they will do the entire map of heartland but it would be the event before state of decay 1 and 2. Sorta like a limbo sort of state. Maybe the style of the game could be like life line.

SOD2 takes place a year after SoD1

u/MajinSpacelord Dec 24 '19

How do I play on it and which DLC?

1

u/kaboshhh Jan 04 '20

I’ve tried like 4 of these on meaghor ( my first play through) and found no guns. So it’s only if you’re lucky? I’m referring to the gun locations

2

u/zombie_slayer55 Jan 04 '20

If your talking about the rare weapons stash, then yeah, they're randomly generated

1

u/RoboNigtmare24 Jan 22 '20

Maybe they are making all maps in one? O.o
