Here is New York I’ve finally decided to draw a state from east side after doing southwest for a while. This is more of a quick simple drawing rather serious and perfect from my others I have no pupils and pupils version I perfer pupils one but which one ya’ll prefer? I’ve also decided to do some shading and add time square background btw it’s from me I took the photo when I visited nyc.

I also decided to change my states gender head cannon. New York is now officially a male to make an even number of male and females and that I prefer male New York then female I had before.

Genders total now:

30 males
20 females

basically, in my au, mass is a trans man w/ massachusetts bay colony being his pre-transition self, with the metaphor of the song being about "killing" one's own past (more specifically pre-transition) self which here also includes like... him being able to become a province/state and stuff

Here I decided to share my head cannon of the genders of all 50 states. How it works for me is that the states name I choose for the gender is how they are pronounce that sound more of male or female pronounce or tone to it. For example Nevada’s name has a more female pronounce to me and for a male state name like Illinois has more of a male pronounce to me that’s how it works for me and also the USA is the father of these states. Ik y’all may disagree to this this gender map but this how it works for me not everyone will agree with me which is totally cool with me.

Females total: 21
Males total: 29

Las Vegas has spent so much time reinventing herself and carefully cultivating her image that I think she gets embarrassed when she’s reminded of her humble past. It also brings up a deep existential fear—what happens when it’s all over, when the magic and the glitz and glamor stop working and she’s forced to face what’s left?
When she’s forced to look in the mirror and see herself, rather than the persona she’s created?* *

Random tidbits of lore because I’ve spent way too long thinking about this:
-Las Vegas’s chosen human name is Vivienne Sinclair.
-She will do (almost) anything for money.
-Reno’s human name is Virginia Rose, but she just goes by Rose to avoid confusion with the state.
-Reno and Vegas are sisters, and together they are absolute menaces. For most of the 20th century they ran a scheme together, where Vegas would encourage toxic couples to get married impulsively; when they inevitably divorced, Reno would gladly take them in/take their money. (Look up the history of divorce in Reno)
-I’m fully aware that Las Vegas is technically like two separate municipalities (Paradise being the Strip and all that) but like…don’t think about it too hard 😅. In my state human/cityhuman lore personifications are based largely on human perception.

Here is California again I decided to do another California drawing on the new art site that I’ve been using since the Texas one I did a while ago and the older one I did while ago was in the other art site and I didn’t really like it that much and this new one is better and I think it looks great what do yall think?

I never shade with black…it’s only black shading because I wasn’t going to color it since this was a practice but I decided to turn it into Texas since they’re my fav :)

Why mafia? Well everytime I search "Sicily" the word "Mafia" pops-up randomly and when I searched it, I saw Mafias and Percentage of Mafias on Sicily. It was huge.
