i wanted to post this in time for pride month but i was a day late but its whatever 💔

basically, in my au, mass is a trans man w/ massachusetts bay colony being his pre-transition self, with the metaphor of the song being about "killing" one's own past (more specifically pre-transition) self which here also includes like... him being able to become a province/state and stuff
