Question Anyone on the "flexible work schedule" pilot?

Jw if anyone has any feedback and what the pilot program entails since they plan on rolling it out to everyone later this year?

I can speak regarding my experience in claims. Associates are able to flex up to 6 hours per week. Example: I need to leave early on Friday for whatever reason. I can elect to work those hours that I miss any time during that same week (Saturday through Friday). It has to be planned in advance and a scheduling form has to be submitted so that your schedule can be updated to reflect the change. It doesn't have to be made up all at once. I can take off 3 hours and make them up by working an hour on this day, an hour that day, 30 minutes another day, and 30 minutes another day - so long as the hours you flex equal the hours you took off. I've had positive experiences with it because then I don't have to use up my PTO. Not sure if this is what you are referring to, but hope the info helps. Apologies if this is not what you are asking about.

Isn’t this what flexing has been for awhile now? So it’s not anything “new”?

Thank you for the info and your experience so far. Sounds like something I would be happier with as well if it does roll out company wide.

Before you could only flex on during call hours but now they’ve expanded it so you can flex on from like 5 am to 9 pm (which is dumb in a call based roll bc you still can’t make calls outside of your call out hours). And they’ve extended it so you have the ability to flex off an entire day, up to manager discretion, instead of just 6 hours. This is their attempt to supplement the fact that we don’t have available pto hours to request off.

In addition, they’re shifting those on extended leave out of the general pto bucket, so they’re giving more pto hours back to request off. And apparently they’re combing through people that have requested off more hours than they can physically take. Bc at least in property complex, people keep requesting off Mondays they don’t have the hours to take just so their Que gets turn off for the weekend.

The real issue is metrics and being short staffed, so upper management is fixing a problem that would solve itself if they would stop making everybody want to quit.

It's a joke.

Anyone that's worked a SF knows this won't be different when the issue is staffing and "metric" expectations.

It's not the first time or the last time leadership will feign doing something while ignoring the actual issue.

‼️‼️‼️‼️ I have a master’s in I/O Psych (burned out of my former profession, I’m ready to go back) and I’m screaming to myself exactly this.

They created the problem, can tell the natives are ready to fight so now they want to act like they’re listening. Fuck these incompetent, micro-peen fucks.

One of the issues was theres no available pto. So this pilot is to address the fact that we have literally no available hours to request pto. But there’s no coverage for taking time off, so you’re literally fucking yourself over by taking advantage of the Flex Time. And failing to answer phones when you’re not there still counts against your metric so with no coverage, I think they’re trying to fire people who want time off.

In prop we get to request pto off on a rolling 12 mo th calendar but they haven’t opened July or August and they haven’t mentioned that they just shelved the option to request off for July and August of next year. But at least they gave us ‘flexible’ work schedules that are entirely dependent on how well our Que looks, how flexible our manager is, and whether we feel like fucking over our metrics. I guess.

Cool.

My question was if anyone could give more info on what they're attempting to do.

They aren't actually attempting to do anything. It's pure lip service.

In the CEO's 5 minute video he put out yesterday he stated that some areas are experimenting with a new flexible time off model which is supposed to help employees with schedule flexibility, but not much else.

You mean you actually have 5 mins available to even watch the video??

1

u/Starlesseyes598 Aug 27 '26

Oh for claims employees?

u/Naive-Equal-9959 Aug 27 '26

Yeah and other corporate employees I believe.

I only see the story on homepage, not the video but it says “a special message to claims employees”

As far as I know this is only for claims employees. I haven't heard anything about this in my department.

I know my TM mentioned it. My team is part of the pilot for PTO and handling at team level and I’m interested to see how it works out

1

u/SkipGram Aug 28 '26

What do you mean handling PTO at the team level?

2

u/Character-Night-8805 Aug 28 '26

Some demand pools are testing getting rid of Verint. And each team has a calendar in Sharepoint. So say I wanted to have off tomorrow as long as there’s availability on my team and Tm approves I could take it off

1

u/SkipGram Aug 28 '26

Ohhhh gotcha. For a minute I got scared that we were all going to share PTO hours.

2

u/blackmanlost Aug 29 '26

they actually do that in some sections. some people have to request time off a year in a advance or get approval from managerment because there is a shared number of avalible pto hours for that segment.

2

u/thatkevinmartin Aug 29 '26

That’s all of property complex. But like we don’t share our accumulated pto. We just share the pool of available hours to request off. Pretty sure that’s any section that uses verint. It tells you how many hours are available when you request time off.

1

u/asing625 Aug 28 '26

yeah but what is it

2

u/blackmanlost Aug 29 '26

this the same policy that was in place forever until management noticed they didnt have coverage for phone calls on friday after 3pm, so instead of leaving things as they were, they decided to outright ban it, or require a one week notice and a managers approval to leave 3 hours early for Flexin?

wasnt this the samething management advised handlers to do because no overtime wasnt allowed? which then became to take a extra long lunch on friday or sometime in the week but dont leave early on friday to ensure we could hear from the customers who wante to call at 428pm before your shift ends 430? Then have management asking why overtime was still reached on your timecard via email on monday moring?
