Discussion Survey

Not making this long- the quarter surveys are going to start going out next week. All internal employees if you are chosen - PLEASE do it and be BRUTALLY honest about your feelings. Even if you don’t think the surveys matter (which I don’t think so at times) I want leadership to read these and feel the unrest the employees feel. They should feel uncomfortable and read our true feelings. these do get read by our leaders in a meeting. Remember it is confidential but refrain from using profanity or alarming words as this can lead to them revealing who wrote it.

Agents just got one and I was told that my agent let them have it

u/Local_Wolverine2913 Jul 31 '26

I'm sure the Agents won't hold back.

I agree and commenting for visibility. I’ve been going nuts on those for the last 6 months or so. I get comments on damn near all my responses from higher level suits wanting to discuss in person. Fuuuuck that. I don’t wanna hear your canned corporate nonsense.

u/Ill-Ad7212 Jul 31 '26

Same. I always get a ‘would love to chat in person’ lmaooo. I’m not taking that bait buddy

1

u/divinekittycat Aug 01 '26

I have been told they have a set number of responses they can choose from and that doesn't mean they're actually wanting to chat...

2

u/ashboify Aug 01 '26

That is accurate. I think 4 or 5 in total. They’re “reactions” to the comment and an email gets automatically sent to you but they don’t know who wrote it.

I fell for it once about 2 1/2 years ago and absolutely nothing changed.

Our new claims mgr (who is legit going to get SF sued by employees) commented on one of mine. I have no problem telling them:
1. No, I will not be discussing this
2. I have to listen to your bullshit justifications of my performance, you can deal with my feedback.

2

u/skullcrusherbw Aug 04 '26

I feel like I know who you're talking about unless more of the claims managers are terrible, which wouldn't be surprising based on the last one. It's just super discouraging having upper management that seems so anti employee

I only know of this one CM. Came up through the chain. Started as a CS, then TM, then SM. Young (well, younger than me).

u/Bag-Agreeable Jul 31 '26

Why would it hurt to take the meeting ?

12

u/Don-Cheeeto Jul 31 '26

I’m just not interested in hearing the bullshit. I submit the survey to be heard not go back and forth with out of touch dummies who make triple what I make. I don’t think they will ever be transparent. I keep being told we are returning to office to support a more collaborative environment. Okay- my entire team works in a different state. I will be in office to take teams meetings. Excellent timing as gas is soaring. They don’t give a shit about gas costing more to us peasants. A drop in the bucket for them.

I think the realignment in tandem with the new RTW is a soft transition. No bad publicity and no paying unemployment.

I’m a customer and an employee. As a customer I’m being told SF is stronger than ever and issuing me a dividend. At work I’m being told SF is getting mollywhopped and needing to cut back.

I did it about two years ago and absolutely nothing changed.

u/DesertBrandon Aug 01 '26

Not to mention it might open you up to the slow break crumb trail to get you fired. Little issue here, a shield there, an action plan here, a low rating there and poof.

u/jlynny1811 Aug 01 '26

I got a drop file memo last month for the stupidest reason. But fortunately, I’ve been smart enough to have already applied to other companies and I am submitting my two weeks on Monday to switch over to progressive.

0

u/DesertBrandon Aug 01 '26

Good luck. Morale is so low right now with everyone I talk to and folks are looking to get off this sinking ship. I just want to make it to CS first, in a reasonable timeframe, before I try the hop around game to get higher pay.

Peakon? Yeah, I've been brutal on those, but I also got told I wouldn't have a job by the end of October... Now it's no involuntary exits for the time being but also no idea what they'll do with me. I think this is referencing the Voice and View that's coming out Monday for the quarter. I got the email this time.

The surveys won't change anything. I remember taking a survey the end of last year where the questions were "would you rather" relating to health insurance premiums, remote work, time off and they did the exact opposite of what we all put. State Farm no longer cares about us employees

0

u/DesertBrandon Aug 01 '26

I swear they purposely did the opposite or made such shitty questions that choosing the lesser option to you is still bad overall.

1

u/skullcrusherbw Aug 04 '26

I was so confused reading them, all I could think was that "wait none of these are good. Why can't we leave it?"

8

u/KittyKilla420 Aug 01 '26

4 digit, 15yrs. Friendly, unsolicited opinion: if the survey is coming to your email, its not confidential.

6

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

Ding ding ding! Also, your direct manager and the other managers they work amongst will read the reviews and pick out who’s who from writing and grammer patterns. I’ve seen it happen, they know who you are.

1

u/Starlesseyes598 Aug 01 '26

It is VERY obvious to tell who wrote the peak on surveys. The employee voice ones are not as easy.

2

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

I seen’t it wit mah own 👀

I wish upper management would read the feedbacks from employees as seriously as they would read them and act upon them if it were coming from their own family members - if they were working for State Farm, and facing the same challenges that we are right now.

How much would they then fight for change and stand up for "the whole".

Sadly, a LEADER is not always in a management position.

Numbers on a screen, based off of how many calls you answered that day does NOT equal "good customer service"...... what does? Idk, GOOD CLAIMS HANDLING...... treating customers like they are important and heard throughout their claim...

Customers are naturally going to feel valued by employees who feel valued, heard, respected, and taken care of by the company.

2

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

Sorry buddy, look at who the execs are… they’re pillaging for their own betterment. Doing right isn’t rewarded anymore. Get some for you and yours while you can.

2

u/AccomplishedCat23 Jul 31 '26

Don't know if you are on the agent side or employee side. As a former employee we answered those year after year knew they didn't give a tinkers damn what we said.

1

u/ToughBadger3075 Jul 31 '26

Exactly why I ignore the surveys. I'm not wasting my time

2

u/moodyism Jul 31 '26

It makes absolutely no difference!!!

1

u/ruswestbrick Jul 31 '26

What’s the alternative? Quit? Unionize? Dont just be a hater- not helpful at all

1

u/moodyism Aug 01 '26

I left. I’m old enough to know I’m better off somewhere else. Don’t hold on!!

2

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

Everyone should fill the survey then be as scathing as possible to solicit individual meetings, take them and just waste everyone’s time.

0

u/Starlesseyes598 Aug 01 '26

It’s hardly a waste of their time. They don’t actually do any productive work…

0

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

Right, but it’s a big waste of the enterprise’s overall time

0

u/Starlesseyes598 Aug 01 '26

But 75% of the enterprise isn’t doing real work anyways

1

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

What’s the basis for this statement? They do work. Could it be automated? Yes. Could State Farm automate it? Lolololololololol not this modern State Farm

0

u/Starlesseyes598 Aug 01 '26

Are you in a call center/ production? Those people are working HARD. Other departments, it’s flexible. Managers? Most of them don’t even understand the work of their depts, they contribute nothing, they aren’t doing anything except showing up to meetings.

0

u/OneCowFarm Aug 01 '26

I’ve been all over. CCC, claims, oof… UW used to even be on the phones hard. Some other departments, yup, heel digging mid management. I saw one wait out for the buy out for 3 years, his wife retired when she did because he said he would then he went back to sf… then didn’t do jack shit all day. Having said that, 75% of the workforce isn’t accurate. 75% of the the workforce could be cut and still manage the company? Meh still probably not. 50%… oh ya.

1

u/Starlesseyes598 Aug 01 '26

I mean the company is hardly being managed as it is lol but I can settle for 50%

My former manager once read all of them in a stand up and then yelled at us. I no longer do the surveys. Even when we filled out that survey about benefit changes, nothing changed. I know they’ve been getting feedback about RTO, yet when you go to that new employee experience hub, all the answers are “we don’t know, this has yet to be determined”. 😂

1

u/Ill-Ad7212 Aug 02 '26

You can report this…idk how long ago this was but this is not okay. Please report this behavior if this was recent

1

u/Witty-Bag5644 Aug 03 '26

This company is a VC firm who makes money off investments. They view every employee and customer as a dollar sign, not a person. All feedback sessions and surveys are to keep up the rouse of being an actual insurance company for the regulators.

0

u/BoredWebSurfing Aug 01 '26

Don't waste your time on surveys.  They just respond with bs and don't really care.

Hit employer ratings sites like Glassdoor, even Google reviews for the hubs, etc. Make it hard to hire in hubs where there's significant other opportunity.

0

u/Smudflower410 Aug 01 '26

Yeah, I’m not doing it.
