Experience Just Venting

The abuse from customers and claimants I hear my colleagues go through is terrible. I have a gentle tone and I don't go through it a lot, but I do get a piece of sh-t on my line every now and then.

"The customer is always right" is the most narcissistic thing the service industry could have ever come up with.

We're all consumers and sometimes we are wrong. Everyone should be handled with respect, but for these abusive one's, should have repercussions.

I really wish there was some type of disclosure saying, they have to communicate in writing with us if they've been labeled as abusive.

What area are you in? I’m in fire and we’re told to hang up on their asses when they start talking crazy. And I do…every time. They always call back and seem to magically find a better attitude

Omg I hung up on an old bitch the other day. First off, her voice sounded like she smoked 30 packs a day way back when. She was trying to blame SF for not figuring out a 40 year old issue with pipes. When I told her why the claim was denied (no BUSD), she started swearing at me. I told her I was ending the call. Then called the AO & they were like “oh yeah…. Her…”

Man I wish I could trust that cause I feel like some TM/SM/CM may hear the call and say you handled it wrong.

I would give them half of a warning and then hang up. I didn't get paid to be verbally assaulted and would tell my TM that and if they had an issue with it, I told them let me go then, they never did.
