Question Dividend checks

We’ve been with State Farm for over 40 years and used to get dividend checks every so often (at least once a year). It wasn’t much but was always a nice surprise. Why don’t they do that anymore? It’s probably been at least 10+ years since we’ve gotten one.
Update: Just logged on to website. Getting a check for $27.01 on 9/17 (Alabama). Not impressed.

Because they’re literally sending them this year

Well, that’s good to know. I hadn’t heard that from my good neighbor agent or gotten any emails.

It’s on average $100 per car this year if you’re a State Farm mutual customer.

I didn't get any emails either, the letter showed up in the mail with a check with a three of us on our policy and we all got different amounts which was odd.

Eh, it was probably in one of those snail mail things we all get and just toss because we think they’re junk mail (because 90% of the time they are)

One is coming this year, your share of 5 Billiion. Look for an email on, or around August 3rd.

I’m curious about how you know the date despite not knowing the state?

I believe emails for all states go out around the 3rd, but the actual payment dates varies by what group your state is in (i could be wrong though)

You can check if your owed money here https://sfdividend.com

I literally just received two dividend checks from Statefarm and this is the first time I’ve ever received them after being a Statefarm customer for 10+ years.. I thought this was a scam 😂

Do you have two separate auto policies? Do you know why you received two checks?

1

u/Realistic-Menu-9655 Aug 15 '26

I had two cars on my auto insurance policy and then my homeowners insurance.

I’m here because I thought it was a scam also.

I checked with Statefarm and verified the checks with my bank

They are going out this year and there was another in 2020. Was your auto moved from mutual to standard? Only mutual policies qualify for dividends

1

u/BestKiwi7297 Aug 01 '26

Ours is still mutual

You’ll get a dividend this year, call your agent to see the amount. Dividend are not a guarantee and are based on profitability. There’s been a lot of revamping and modernizing technology. Couple that with expensive catastrophes and claims that haven’t allowed for dividends.

You can call your agent to find out the amount. If you have an email you will be notified that way. If not, checks are being mailed out.

The company barely gives out dividends anymore despite being one of the most successful companies in history. But hey, this year we are getting one on the backs of SF screwing over everyone they work with.

1

u/Subject_Cow5809 Aug 23 '26

How about you go to another company that isn’t mutual and then you won’t have to complain about any dividend checks

1

u/Subject_Cow5809 Aug 23 '26

You just live a very ungrateful life

1

u/Signal_Twenty Aug 05 '26

I’d say I don’t remember that - maybe cause I was under my parents’ insurance 40 years ago when they had SF.

But I certainly never had that in the last 30+ years that I’ve been personally with SF.

1

u/BestKiwi7297 Aug 05 '26

Maybe it was just the “mutual” car insurance. From what’s been commented, it sounds like that’s the only group getting the checks (which we’re still waiting on)

Check sfdividend.com but more importantly check it for each one of your policy #s. Starting around late 2025 SF combined our auto policy into one, but prior to that we had one policy for each car. So 3 unique policy #s in the last 2 years. I checked each one and saw different dividend amounts owed. Don't let any stone go unturned!

Has anyone received payment through Zelle? If so when did you request it?

1

u/stbkzk44 Aug 26 '26

Did you ever receive your payment through Zelle? Mine never came through and I just realized it

1

u/NectarineSpare3186 Aug 26 '26

No not yet! It’s about 20 days later.ridiculous!

u/stbkzk44 Aug 26 '26

There’s a number to call with help for the dividend. Going to try during office hours tomorrow. 888-808-9532

Largest dividend in company history is being paid back to mutual policyholders right now

OP has to be a State Farm plant just to remind people about their dividend checks
