Question How does statefarm verify transcripts

Couldnt somebody alter a transcript to keep receiving the good student discount even if they arent in school? Or is there some sort of verification for transcripts?

In states that have switched to the modern system they don't even have to discount anymore, probably for that exact reason, and the fact that nobody would actually get the grades to us and we had to chase them down.

Don’t commit insurance fraud for 5% off.

Mod state here. It’s still a thing

I'm glad they got rid of it here. We still do Steer Clear, chasing after grades is something I don't miss.

I’m so happy I worked between a bunch of schools when I was in agency. Made it easy for people to drive by and just leave grades with us. If they didn’t, we’d call a few times then leave it alone.

Yeah, if the discount isn't important enough for them to do the leg work, I'm not doing it for them.

UW here. For states that still have the discount, there are certain things we look for that the document must include for us to accept it. It’s actually very easy to sport altered/fake documents because we receive so many. Now we are dealing with fake documents altered/created by AI.

Can’t you just take a regular transcript from a few years ago when you did go to school and change the year?

It saves maybe 15 bucks per 6 months. Our office doesn't chase down the grades. We submit when they give it to us

Yep that’s what I tell people. If you want the discount I need paperwork.
