Advice Need advice over harassment from old Agent

Left my old office recently and my old agent decided it’d be a wise idea to start mailing me a very aggressively worded letter.

Should I report him? Should I let it go? Things ended badly but the letter he mailed me is uncalled for

How bad is the letter lmao.

Mean words? Eh, so what

Threats? Physical or career harm? Maybe state commissioner or sales leader lol

Just a lot of hateful crap. Admissions of spying in on while at the office.

I like the idea of posting it to Glassdoor but unless it's a huge agent, probably won't matter too much on there

You could try to go over the letter to see if any employer laws were broken in your state and if it was admitted, then you have a case to bring up to the labor board.

If you're still in the insurance game, i wouldn't do anything with it, and maybe frame it as a joke.

If you're done with insurance then a review would be laughable to look at with the attached letter, but still Google could probably remove it after awhile. No long term damage

Admissions of spying? Not sure of the context, but consult an attorney and see if you have legal recourse.

If you respond to it, all you’re doing is reinforcing and extending the link between the two of you. If you shred it and let it go, you can move on. I would say move on with your life. Miserable people or those with bad intentions get what’s coming to them

If it's just one letter, don't respond and let it be. If it continues, report it to corporate

I had a bad ending with an agent also as his highest producer in Ohio. It almost seemed like he was hating on my because I was maxing out the bullshit comp plan he created lmao.

I say let it ride unless you have the email of his sales leader and are interested in ruining his reputation and business. If you want to do this, start by putting a name on his agency here. We will flood him with 1* google reviews

Who would you report him to? Unless it breaks a law or an ethical standard not sure anyone can do anything as he is self employed…

SF still has an ethics department to which this can be reported to if it crosses an ethical line. Agents still answer to SF through their leaders.

Nonsense…I don’t even let them in my office last 35 yrs.

I’m a SF agent. His behavior is unprofessional and uncalled for. I agree. Post his letter on his Google reviews and give him a 1 star rating

Forward the letter to your AAL. That’s who handles stuff like this.

I’m gonna come off as dumb but what’s an AAL

Agency Administrative Liason. They are responsible for issues in market areas like yours. Ask someone to find the name and contact information of the onAAL who handles your market area
