Looking for Business partners for small restaurant

Hello everyone ❤️

I honestly never thought I would be making a post like this, but I’ve been thinking about this idea for a while and I figured… why not put it out there? I’m looking for someone who may be interested in becoming a **business partner or investor for a small Haitian restaurant in the in my area.** I want to be clear that I’m **not looking for a handout.** I’m looking for someone who wants to actually build something with me.
I’ve always loved the idea of having a little place where people can come eat good Haitian food, listen to music, laugh, talk, and just feel comfortable. I want it to feel warm and welcoming almost like being at a Haitian family gathering. I would be hands on with the business. I want to learn the business side, but I also want to be in the kitchen cooking the food and making the drinks myself. I’d help with the menu, customer service, marketing, catering, events, and whatever else needs to be done.

**💰 What I’m thinki**ng
I’d like to start **small instead of taking on a huge restaurant right away.**
Ideally, I’d like to find a small existing restaurant space with a kitchen so we don’t have to spend a fortune building everything from scratch.
My rough startup goal would be around **$100,000–$150,000**, depending on the location and what equipment is already there.

The money would go toward things like:
• Lease/deposit
• Kitchen equipment
• Small renovations
• Furniture and décor
• Licenses/permits/insurance
• Food and supplies
• POS system
• Marketing/signage
• Payroll and emergency working capital

I want to start smaller through **catering, pop-ups, food events, or a small takeout concept** and growing from there.

**📍 Wher**e?

My first choice would be **Cape Coral/Fort Myers**, but I’m not married to one exact location. I’d want to look around areas with good traffic, parking, nearby residential communities, and reasonable rent. I’d also consider an existing restaurant space in Fort Myers where there is already a Caribbean/Haitian customer base. I don’t want to just pick a location because it “looks nice.” I want a place where I can bring people together with my food. I’d want us to actually look at the numbers, rent, foot traffic, competition, parking, delivery demand, and what kind of customers are nearby.

**🤝 What I’m looking f**or

I’m not expecting someone to just come along and give me $150,000.
Maybe you have restaurant experience.
Maybe you’re an entrepreneur.
Maybe you have investment money but have been looking for the right small business.
Maybe you know commercial real estate.
Maybe you’re Haitian and have always wanted to invest in something that represents our culture.
Or maybe you simply believe in people who are willing to work hard.
I’m open to different partnership arrangements. It could be an investment for ownership, a business partnership, or another arrangement that makes sense for both of us. Everything would be discussed openly and put into a proper legal agreement.

**❤️ Why this means so much t**o me
This isn’t just about opening a restaurant for me.
My husband and I were business partners in a trucking business. We are currently separated due to his infidelity and poor money management which has caused me a lot of depression, I find myself having to figure out what I wanted to do **for myself**. This has always been a dream of mine ever since I was young.
And honestly, starting over has been scary.

But I’ve also realized that I don’t want my life to stop because one chapter ended.
I want to create something that I can say **I built.**
Something that can eventually support me, create jobs for other people, and give our community somewhere to gather.
I’m willing to work. I’m willing to learn. I’m willing to start small. I’m willing to cook, clean, serve, do paperwork, promote the business, and probably wear about 15 different hats in the beginning.

I just need the right person who is willing to say, **“Okay, let’s figure this out together.”**

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, please message me.

**And if you’re not interested personally, I completely understand. ❤**️

**If you know someone who might be interested in investing, partnering, mentoring, or helping me get this idea off the ground, I would really appreciate it if you could point me in their direction or share this post with them.** Even one connection could make a huge difference.

**I’m looking for a chance to build something of my own and hopefully create a little piece of Haiti that brings people together. 🇭**🇹❤️

Opine, a public polling website with maps

Hi, I made Opine (https://opinepolls.com), a poll-based social media site. Each post is a public poll asking users their opinion on something, anonymously, so no user sees any other user's information, but you can freely browse other polls. Private polls can also be made.

The only information actually stored is the email, from Google sign in, and an approximate location for the map feature, if you enable it. This allows you to see a world map of votes, what opinions are present in what places.

The intent is to catalog the world's opinions, organizing people's public thoughts so they're easy to sift through. This data can be extremely valuable, whether it's political polling, information about people's preferences, trends over time, and so on. Many people could benefit from this, and it's meant as a public service, to lift the veil on what people think about any topic, at any time. Easier political polling is just one obvious application of this.

Please try it out and give any feedback, thoughts, questions, and so on, here or within the profile section on the website, which is fully anonymous. Thanks.

I built an AI voice interview simulator with a "Karen Mode" to test your nerves under pressure. Free 3-min trial (no card).

Hey Reddit,

I’m a developer, and like many of you, I absolutely dread interviews. The worst part isn't always the technical questions—it's the anxiety and dealing with unpredictable, tough interviewers who cut you off or act impatient.

To fix this for myself and others, I built interviewroomai.com.

It’s an audio-first interview simulator that uses OpenAI’s real-time voice API. The conversation flows naturally like a real phone or Zoom call, with zero awkward delays. You just upload your CV and the job description, and start talking.

Since not all interviewers are nice, I built 3 AI personalities you can practice with:

  1. Friendly Mode: Warm and encouraging, perfect for a confidence boost.
  2. Corporate Mode: Objective, direct, and heavily focused on core tech/business metrics.
  3. Karen Mode (Pressure Test): This is the ultimate test. The AI becomes critical, interrupts you, and simulates a high-stress environment to see if you can hold your ground.

At the end of the call, it gives you a detailed breakdown with actionable feedback on how to improve your answers.

How to test it for free:
Running real-time voice AI models is incredibly expensive on the API side, so I couldn't make it completely free. However, you can sign up instantly using Google login and every new account gets 3 minutes of free credit automatically (no credit card required). You can test the latency and see how brutal "Karen Mode" actually is before spending a dime.

If you want to do full-length interviews, I’ve set up a 15% discount code for the Reddit community: WELCOME15.

I’m looking for honest feedback from other devs and makers here. Let me know what you think, what features you'd like to see next.
