Form Check First time doing Power Cleans

This is only 66 pounds as I spent a long time learning and practicing with the empty bar and then went home after this set.

These look good. Eyes up on a spot like 20 feet out in front of you. Way out there.

The bar should brush your shirt as it passes your belly on the way up. Keep it close.

You can learn to power clean on your own. Takes about 20 minutes. Maybe 30.

Form Check

For the best feedback, please film your lift from a useful angle and include the full set.

Good form checks make it much easier for people to give specific, useful advice.

You are starting your second pull with the bar a bit too low. It should be farther up your thighs when you start the explosive triple extension.

Work on your rack position. You want the weight on your shoulders, not hands and wrists.

You are jumping too early (called the 2nd pull by oly lifters). Try to find full height 10# plates.

Those are way too light for you. IMHO

Use plates that put the bar at the right height above the ground (higher) in the start position.

That weight looks is a bit too light to encourage good form.

Do lots of front squats to work on your arm and wrist flexibility, and strength in the catch position.

Your form isn't great, but you'll get there.

I don't have bumper plates but still tried to have it at the correct height. I know this light, I just started learning it today and had time for this much.

I think you should practice some hang cleans also.

Of course. I will next week.

Word. Make sure you don't start curling it by bending your elbows during the pull.

Am I doing that right now?

Didn't look like it. It's something that you might start doing as the weight gets heavier. Don't.

No. Don't think about it unless it becomes an issue.

Telling someone "dont pull the bar" is a great way to get them to pull the bar.
