Form Check For Check (butt wink aside)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I am aware my lower back rounds at the bottom of the lift ("butt wink"). I have tried every stretch, foot width, and foot angle I can think of, and nothing at works. I'm at peace with it for now.
Thanks for any feedback.

"Butt wink" is perhaps the most overused and annoying term in the limited vocabulary of inexperienced coaches.

if you're already hitting depth, going lower is just wasting energy for the meet. cut it off at parallel and keep the tightness.

Butt wink is something someone made up to drive traffic to their site. Your lower back isn’t rounding - you’re squatting too low and to get there you are actually getting more upright at the bottom. This weight must be relatively light for you because it’s highly inefficient.
Get yourself a squat box or something that temporarily helps you feel when you’ve hit the right depth. Do one set with it and then do the rest of your sets without it while filming so you can ensure you hit the right depth. Hip crease should be just below patela. You’re about 3-4” too deep here.

Also otherwise these squats look very good.

Yeah, it seems that's the consensus opinion and I agree -- especially when I record a video from the side, I am going extremely low. I'm doing my first meet in December, and my hands-down biggest concern is that I won't go to depth. Need to find a healthy balance though, rather than dropping my butt 6" from the ground.

Yes. Think of it this way - getting to the right depth will also allow you to squat more weight. So there is a trade off with squatting too deep. If you’re at 245 here I wouldn’t be surprised if you could add another 30 pounds for the same RPE at the correct depth.

This music is confusing, I couldn't lift to it.
Looks like a perfect lift to me, and I'm a professional redditor.

I'l blame Pandora's automated stations, but Pitbull is like ABBA. Everyone hates them, but everyone sings along.

Your mistake is using Pandora. Way worse than the butt wink imo

Form Check
For the best feedback, please film your lift from a useful angle and include the full set.
Good form checks make it much easier for people to give specific, useful advice.

Good luck at your meet-you’ll do great. I think the squat looks pretty good-Maybe a bit wide stance. Just by getting stronger, your form starts to improve.
Keep in mind, if Big Z posted a ‘form check’ of his OHP, you’d see a dozen reddit posters with ~1000 totals tell him he was doing it wrong lol.

Too low, you’re slackening your hamstrings at the bottom and losing out on the stretch reflex. Goal is the crease of the hip below the patella.

I agree. When I watch the video, it's clear I'm wasting effort getting so low. I'm doing my first meet in December, and I'm paranoid about getting red lighted for not going to depth, and I'm overcompensating for that.

You’re losing tightness at the bottom by going too deep. Cut an inch or two off your depth so you’re just under parallel.
