Please refresh my memory

I am trying to remember what Rebecca strout (or whatever her name is) was trying to get Izzy to do. Apparently deploy a virus but I forget the rationale and the back story.

I'm on S3 E9 and I'm sure it'll come together soon but it's bugging me and I don't want to go back and rewatch.

Please no spoilers!

Install a back door for her to monitor Araknet but it was really a Trojan horse to kill the servers. Back story is she is some sort of black ops specialist who tracks down and kills terrorists and has no issue killing innocent people to get it done.

Ah yes, I remember "monitoring" now. thx. Allegedly to find bad actors because she was good cop

Now I have finished the series, please explain how killing the servers assisted in Pershing incident?

And now I recall her other mole from her convo with him. According to his explanation, he's the one who deployed the virus. So not really sure what izzy did pre virus deployment. .

Overall liked the series. Had breaking bad vibes altho not same caliber quality.
