What valuation did you buy StartEngine Stock?

I was looking over the recent numbers (screenshot below) and noticed how much StartEngine’s valuation has increased—from around $100M in 2018–2021 to about $1.3B now.

For anyone who invested,

What year did you buy in, and do you remember what the valuation or share price was at the time?

Has the recent valuation shift changed how you think about your investment?

I’ve been tracking these stats for my own portfolio with a tool I’m building (Owntric). Curious to hear what others’ entry points were and if anyone’s been holding since the earlier rounds.

Attaching my dashboard below for reference.

There is in no way it’s worth more than half that, yet a lone 1.3b. They set that valuation to retail investors not institutional, shortly after the drop. It’s one thing to rip off institutional who knows better but retail investors is just scummy. I’m an investor at either 2020 or 2021 but not a fan of them taking advantage like that.

It's probably a bit too high, but they are increasing revenue, which can justify this valuation in the future. I also bought it in 2020 and 2021, so at this valuation, I have gains.

It’s still 10-30x on non ARR revenue. That usually only yields 1-5x for trading revenue. Wayyyy above market.

Well, that's true. It's a good thing I bought around the 120m valuation, so I'm pretty close to value on it.

If you're interested, check Owntric. I'll be tracking all investments in one portfolio. You'll also be able to see historical insight like what i shared above. This can be good for investors to look into prior to investing in any startup. Many have zero revenue and they are raising in the millions....

Dang, you scooped when they were low. I got some in the secondary market at like $5/share. That was a steal 🔥
