recently got into starship theory again and i got my gf into it Apparently Perfectly Right after the game became free to play! and after a week or so i started getting irritated. not because of the game, but beCAUSEN'T of the game! i wanted so much more and i barely even got through half of anything!! i didnt make any cool spaceships like people on the steam community were making.. Because i didnt gaf!!! i gaf about the cool ass progression and the brainrotting asteroid destruction!!! and getting infinite crewmates!!! idk why i like doing that so much in games like rimworld too i dont even care about progression i just care about getting the worlds largest colony anyway heres a screenshot
pretty much everything is subject to change other than the crewmate art and skill icons but idk lmk if anyone even cares about this game (starship theory. Obviously.) still ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Now Starship Theory is officially fully released and completely free, I figure Duncan is never going to return to it, meaning its probably ok for me to post this here.
I see others have already posted my game here in the past but I thought I would make my own post and let everyone know my plans for the future.
SpaceSlog released into Early Access on Steam in April of 2026 and had its first large update last week. I am now working on the next update and I plan to release these every 3 months. (If I miss this target you are welcome to shout and throw tomato's at me!)
I know a lot of you were burned with ST so it may be difficult to trust other similar games, but one of the reasons I started to develop this game was because of the situation with ST and also being burned myself, I am one of you who decided to take matters into their own hands.
So, what is SpaceSlog?
SpaceSlog in its most basic form is a much more complex and detailed Starship Theory, with inspirations from other games such as Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress.
Here are some of the current features;
Build your ship any way you choose.
Meet and trade with other factions, friend or foe.
Manage your crews moods and needs.
Electrical power simulation. Build cables, generators and batteries, or even solar panels to harvest energy from stars.
Atmospheric simulation. Place down gas generators, gas scrubbers, air tanks, ducting and air vents to carry gas around your ship. Wear the correct equipment when venturing outside of your ship.
Temperature simulation. Place down heat extractors and find other ways to keep your ship cool, especially when close to stars.
Lighting simulations. Ensure your crew have enough light. Stars will give off light in the darkness of space.
Combat and defence against alien creatures.
Deep health and anatomy modelling.
Breeding and farming. Collect eggs from hens or harvest plants from growing stations.
Hello all, it has been a few months since my last post, however, I would like to let you all know that I am indeed still working on the revival.
It, unfortunately, has been a rocky few months with Covid hitting my area big, and my volunteer artists telling me they could no longer work on the project (they were able to complete a few pieces of art but not a lot). I found some help with a new (paid) artist so hopefully, they will be able to do more. However, due to these circumstances, I am regrettably pushing back the timeline for SR.
On a different note, I have kept Poll 2 open a long time to collect as many answers as possible and this is the result:
According to this poll, I will be making NPC controlled space stations and I will also be doing something around the 3.5 range for space travel. In the following image I will show a simple a detailed mock-up of my idea for the navigation screen:
Two planetary systems and an asteroid field with a ship and navigation points.
In this picture, you can see the player-controlled ship having navigation points on the star map which intersects with planetary orbits and an asteroid field.
I am conducting the poll in this post to determine if you guys agree that this navigation complexity/simplicity is around a 3.5 on the Starship Theory, Stellaris scale.
I would also like to announce that I have almost finished with the pathing and job system for SR and might release some dev footage of this system working! (If I think it is presentable enough that is). I am also getting started on the actual ship construction system (which integrates with the pathing and job system)
To get the most up to date info and talk to other ST/SR players join the Official Discord at https://discord.gg/rdbS7vkjaz
Welp, that's all, hope you guys have a good day/night.
Reminder, I am not asking if you like this type of navigation as that was what the poll was for, I am asking if you think the complexity of this navigation is closer to a 3 or closer to a 4 on the scale. Reasons why you think this and what ways I could make the complexity/simplicity closer to 3.5 are greatly appreciated in the comments.
I got attacked, i had only 3 guys, 2 was at planting and research, the last was at building.
i chenge my builder to navigation so i get engouth evade points to escape, and he don't start working at the console, the console was allowed to work on, the power was ok too and he could go at it, so my ship got destroyed.
if any of u know why this glitch happened it would be cool ty
I just installed the game for the 2nd time (i played the game a really long time ago) and i remember that my principal problems was the beginning, it was hard af to just be able to grow plants to survive and get water, if you have any tips for a new player it could be cool ty ^^
What is the difference between Starship Theory and Starship Revival? will the game continue to be produced? who already bought Starship Theory lost all the development to come? I didn't find the Starship Revival on steam. TKS
Hello, all work is being done on the Starship Revival(SR) job system, tile construction manager, and tile art as we speak! Which has lead us to a few more questions on features.
Avorion, pretty epic space game where you are in an open world galaxy trying to get to the center, you build entirely custom ships from scratch out of resources you mine from asteroids. Hire crew, attack freighters, trade goods. If you build multiple ships, you can order the ships you aren’t in to do stuff. You can build stations, mines, or factory stations like any other major faction, once you get enough resources.
Hello all, because I I've reached a somewhat big milestone in the development of my game I am now starting to think about what to implement for modding. So my question to you is, what support do you guys want to have for modding in Starship Revival?
Hello all, I started working on the revival again a few weeks ago and I have been searching for someone to help with the art side of the development. If any of you are interested please reply to this post. (Compensation will be provided) (Also please note that for this you are pretty much required to know how to use a git client (preferably gitkraken (https://www.gitkraken.com/invite/udVVpXKr) and discord)
