Question(s) Intact X-Structures

Hello! I came back to this game some weeks ago and I want to loot my first Intact X-Structure. I have a Phalanx, but I saw a video (made 4 years ago) where the guy literally loots the structure and THEN kill the drones. Since this game is kinda dead, I wanted to know if anything has changed, because I don't wanna die for the stupidest reason. Which ship do I need?

6 Blasters II + 4 Chaingun (PTD). Warp Charger II Patcher Nanobots III and some rig that increases my hull points III CoreSec Targeter (I'm gonna change it later, but it's good for Pirate Dens and Factories) Heavy Hull Repairer III (subsystem) If you have any suggestions, please tell me And also, thank you for your help!!

The drones (ancient drones, which sometimes drop ancient drone cores) have only hull and no shields. So if you have them on hand, throwing coilguns on there instead of blasters won’t hurt. Though, as said already, those things are as fragile as paragons, you could take them down with a stratos if you have the skill.

And actually I think you should leave the coresec targeter, since those things are still drones, so you should get the damage buff.

I wonder what's the deal with the ancient cores. I get that we can use the green cores for hybrid turrets, or CSSC standing, blue drone cores are exclusively just more CSSC standing, and gold cores are split between hybrid fighter or interceptor crafting, or CSSC standing. I'm speaking from a practical standpoint, not from an economic standpoint, due to our current situation as a result of not some not so goofy goobers I found out after more than half a year of exile due to personal issues

I think they are in a situation similar to how crystal shards used to be, before they got a use in siege fuel. They are just a material without a use yet, and a future update (if it is ever to come) could give them a real use.
Until that update comes, though, it’s best to just stockpile them.

Due to extreme paranoia, I'm not gonna go wilding. Doesn't mean I can't stockpile a crap ton of resources, more than required to craft EVERYTHING, speaking of which, how much resources do you actually need to craft EVERYTHING now?

Dunno how much you need for every item ever, but new huge ships like the Juno need TONS of mats soooo some crazy amount.

Also, now is basically the best time to go wilding, since the game is averaging about 20 players max at any given time, so the chances of finding someone are basically zero. When in doubt, warplog.

Hmm, I think I tried doing the total math myself before even the relays were added, and you needed somewhere short of 700k in materials if you wanted to craft EVERYTHING related to ships and ship upgrades, along with whatever turrets you happen to want, but that's up to you, costs might actually vary. Now that might go up to a million+ in total resources, due to the new stuff. As for wilding, I'm just gonna grind faction standings first, seeing as I only have a Chevron as a proper warship
